Stockholm Bus/Metro/Rail fare card in my @PortaPocketGal wallet! #traveltuesday

The blue card is my fare card for Stockholm's public transit system. It's good on all parts of Stockholm's system. I was able to take the commuter rail in from my hotel in Solna a couple of weeks ago, then switch to the subway. When I'm staying at the Radisson hotel in Frosunda (which is right next to the office complex where Hitachi Data Systems is located), the 509 bus line terminates right out front. You can top-up the fare card at convenience stores and train stations. They also sell a 7-day, all-access pass, which is music to my ears.

Like many cities, the offices where I teach (clients and HDS) are often out in the 'burbs, and the interesting things to do in the evening are nearer the city centre. With an all-access pass for a week, I can explore Stockholm's Old Town (the Gamla Stan) better!
